This Isn’t Just a Business
We're a family-owned shop based in New Prague, Minnesota. What began as a passion for Jeeps, SxS's, fabrication, and trail riding has grown into a place where people can find quality parts, honest service, custom fabrication, and a community that shares the same obsession for getting outside.
What We Believe
If it can’t handle the trail, it doesn’t leave the shop.
We take the extra time because it matters when you’re miles out.
Because redoing it later costs more—in time, money, and frustration.
This isn’t just rigs—it’s the people behind them.

History of How We Became Phase Off Road
Jake's passion for off-road started long before Phase Off Road was ever an idea. With over 20 years of four-wheel-drive experience, he's spent countless hours turning wrenches, exploring trails, and figuring out how to make things stronger, more capable, and sometimes just a little more fun.
After high school, Jake did a stint at WyoTech before eventually returning home and making a difficult decision, selling his Jeep so he could attend line school. Since 2016, he's worked as a lineman, but no matter how busy life became, the off-road world never stopped calling his name. Jake eventually found his way back into the off-road world, like many people looking to get outdoors, we figured SxS's would be more affordable than Jeeps.
Fun fact: they are not any cheaper than Jeeps...
What started as one SxS quickly turned into two. The Passenger Problem got her own machine... you know... for the kids.
After falling in love with a few Jeeps out on the trails the misses decided she "needed" a Jeep, you know... for the kids. Jake remained convinced that four doors is about two too many. The obvious solution, of course, was another Jeep. Now there are his-and-hers SxS's and his-and-hers Jeeps!
The collection continued growing with the rescue of a Fabin Baby Lizard chassis. Because if Mom and Dad have toys, the kids should have a buggy too.
Somewhere between the SxS's, Jeeps, fab projects, family adventures, and a shop full of ideas, there was a brief moment that could best be described as a pre-midlife crisis. When asked what he wanted to do when he grew up, Jake's answer was... blunt...
"Build cool shit."
And thus became, Phase Off Road
After spending years on the trails with the family, I started thinking about something most Parents hope they never have to deal with:
What happens if something goes wrong?
With Jakes background in linework, emergency planning is second nature. You talk about what could happen, where important information is, who to contact, and what the plan is if the unexpected occurs.
We quickly realized, that's not always the case for everyone.
Whether you're in the middle of the desert, deep in the woods, or riding with people you met up with that morning, who knows how to reach your family? Who knows about a medical condition, allergy, medication, or emergency contact if you're unable to speak for yourself?
The more we talked about it, the more we realized there was a gap between an emergency happening and the information people need to help.
And thus became Phase Alert.
What started as a simple idea grew into a mission to help make critical emergency information more accessible when every minute matters.
When not working on Phase Alert, you'll usually find me creating content, organizing events, helping customers, or chasing my next big idea. Between the shop, the trails, our family, and an ever-growing list of projects, life is always busy—and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Why Phase Alert
We’ve seen what happens when things go wrong on the trail.
No service. No info. No way to help fast.
Phase Alert was built to bridge that gap.
Giving first responders instant access to critical information when it matters most.
More Than Just a Shop
