Wisconsin is one of the Midwest’s most underrated off-road destinations, offering thousands of miles of ATV and UTV trails that stretch through dense Northwoods forests, rolling farmland, and rugged terrain. With a strong off-road culture and well-maintained trail systems, it’s a go-to state for both weekend riders and serious trail explorers.

WI Trails

  • Iron County ATV/UTV Trail System

One of the largest trail systems in Wisconsin with over 250 miles of interconnected routes. Riders travel through dense forest, past historic mining and logging sites, and alongside lakes and waterfalls. It’s known for its mix of scenic cruising and longer-distance riding.

  • Tuscobia State Trail

A 74-mile rail-trail that runs across northern Wisconsin, connecting multiple small towns. Built on a former railroad corridor, it offers long, smooth stretches with access to forest land and river crossings—perfect for riders looking to cover serious miles.

  • Black River State Forest Trails

Located in central Wisconsin, this area features around 30+ miles of trails through 68,000 acres of forest. Known for sandy terrain, rolling hills, and scenic river views, it’s a favorite for both beginners and experienced riders.

  • Cheese Country Recreation Trail (Driftless Region)

This trail system stands out because it runs through the Driftless Area—terrain untouched by glaciers. Expect hills, valleys, and unique landscapes you won’t find anywhere else in the Midwest. It’s one of the most scenic and unique riding areas in the state.
